For over 50 years, Batu Tiga factory has been the cornerstone of Nestlé’s operations. It producing beloved MAGGI products in Malaysia. The factory is designed with sustainability and safety in mind. This factory using modern technology and automation to optimize resources and reduce its environmental impact.

The Batu Tiga factory employs a fully local workforce of 1,000 people, including operators, technicians, forklift drivers, and a quality assurance team. Every product meets strict quality control and Halal standards, using top Halal ingredients for consumers’ peace of mind. The factory produces over 2.5 million packs of MAGGI® 2 Minute Noodles daily.

Development of Maggi Factory

Batu Tiga Factory has rapidly expanded, boosting production capacity to meet Malaysians’ growing demand for a variety of MAGGI® products, including specialty noodles, flavors, MAGGI® Noodle Cups and Bowls, MAGGI® Stock Cubes, MAGGI® Sautéed Sambal, and MAGGI® CukupRasa.

As the largest MAGGI® manufacturing facility in Southeast Asia, Batu Tiga Factory also exports its products to over 20 countries worldwide, including all of Southeast Asia, Australia, the United Kingdom, and South Korea.

MAGGI R&D and Quality

Nestlé’s in-house digital manufacturing system (DMO) efficiently manages the complexities of our Culinary Plants, which handle a vast array of ingredients and recipes, including the production of Tastemaker Curry. The DMO integrates RFID scanners, HMI, programming, and SAP software to provide full control over recipes and ensure traceability.

Automated production parameters guide operators through each manufacturing step, ensuring consistency in the quality of MAGGI® products. The process chain guarantees the precise use of ingredients for every recipe.

Mrs Lee Lay Chin, 57 – Production Chargehand.

Mrs Lee, who is from Klang, has been working at Kilang Batu Tiga since 1989, and was introduced to the job by a family member who was already working at the factory at the time. In her nearly 35 years of service, Mrs. Lee has risen through the ranks. He himself experienced how the factory had grown over the years. Starting from a small factory with only one manufacturing line. Then become an automated facility with an expanded network. As well as production capacity to meet the growing demand for MAGGI® products. In the early years, Mrs. Lee had to knead the dough for the noodles manually.

Muhamad Norfirman Bin Che Nordin, 27 – First Line Manager.

En Firman moved from the East Coast to join Kilang Batu Tiga earlier this year. As a first line manager, he manages a team of operators. Also ensures worker safety, product quality and asset performance. The collaborative culture at MAGGI® is what convinced him to make the bold move.

Mr Shukri Bin Mahmood, 56 – Plant Operator

A Kelantan native, En Shukri joined the Batu Tiga Factory in 1991 as a plant operator at the Wheat Noodle Plant (now known as Fried Noodle Plant). He then transferred to the Light Meal Plant almost a decade later in 2002 and has been serving there since. He has been instrumental in starting three new production lines at Kilang Batu Tiga.

Aidil ikhwan Bin Shukri, 26 – Plant Operator

Following in his father’s footsteps, Aidil was initially employed as a temporary operator at the Culinary Plant during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 to support the increased demand for MAGGI®’s products. He later rejoined the Batu Tiga Factory in 2022 as a plant operator at the Fried Noodle Plant.

Noor Eliawati Bt Mohd Ali, 38 years old – Quality Assurance Assistant

Puan Elia has worked at Kilang Batu Tiga since 2010. As a Quality Assurance Assistant, she ensures the consistency of the quality of MAGGI® products produced every day, and that the highest quality control and Halal standards are followed. Elia first met her husband at the Batu Tiga factory, who also worked at MAGGI® as an operator at the Noodle Plant.
